Step 1
Mince the garlic and fry for a few minutes in vegetable or olive oil.
Step 2
To the same pan, add in soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar & a stock cube
Step 3
Wash and zest the skin of 1 orange and set aside.
Step 4
Juice that same orange, add juice to the pan and stir.
Step 5
Create a cornstarch slurry by mixing 2 Tbsp of cornstarch with 4 Tbsp of hot water, add to the pan and stir.
Step 6
Drain and rinse chickpeas and add to the pan.
Step 7
Cook for 15 minutes adding hot water to keep the pan from sticking
Step 8
Serve on rice with steamed broccoli, topped with sesame seeds and orange zest.

Use a gluten free soy sauce or Tamari to make this recipe gluten free
