Method

Step 1
Add the Wattie's Supreme Chicken Gravy to a jug with 250ml boiling water. Whisk until thickened. Pour evenly into a 24-hole ice cube tray then transfer to the freezer. Freezer for at least 3 hours, or overnight.
Step 2
Peel and chop the potatoes. Add to a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for 10 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender all the way through. Drain well, add the butter, and mash to a smooth consistency. Stir in the chopped herbs and season with pepper.
Step 3
To prepare the gravy bites: Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan, and line a baking tray with a paper towel. Place the flour, eggs, and panko breadcrumbs in 3 separate bowls.
Step 4
Press around 2 tablespoons of mashed potato into the palm of your hand. Place a frozen gravy cube into the centre and shape the potato around the gravy cube to seal. Roll into a ball. Coat in flour, dip in the egg tapping off any excess, then roll in breadcrumbs. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
Step 5
Cook the gravy bites in batches for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown. Carefully transfer to the paper towel-lined tray using tongs or a slotted spoon. Serve hot.
