Chicken & Mushroom Pie

This one-baked chicken and mushroom pie made with Wattie's® Supreme Roast Meat Gravy is sure to be a favourite on the table.

Ingredients

1 tbsp olive oil
750g store-bought rotisserie chicken (cooked, shredded)
1 small brown onion, finely diced
2 garlic cloves, crushed
6 fresh shiitake mushrooms, stalks removed, diced
200g Swiss brown mushrooms, sliced
2 tbsp Wattie's® Supreme Roast Meat Gravy 29g
½ cup chicken stock
Salt and pepper to season
1/3 cup light cooking cream
2 sheets frozen short-crust pastry, partially thawed
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 sheet frozen puff pastry, partially thawed
Sesame seeds to decorate

Step 1
Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add onion, garlic, and mushrooms to the pan. Cook, stirring until mushrooms are tender.
Step 2
Add chicken and Wattie's Supreme Roast Meat Gravy powder to the pan.
Step 3
Cook, stirring for 1 minute. Add stock, and season with salt and pepper. Reduce heat to low. Simmer, for 10-15 minutes or until sauce thickens. Stir in the cream. Remove from heat and cool.
Step 4
Preheat oven to 200°c. Grease a large pie tin/casserole dish. Line the base and side with the shortcut pastry. Spoon chicken mixture into pie tin/casserole dish.
Step 5
Add the puff pastry on top and trim the edges of the pastry and brush with egg. Sprinkle over sesame seeds. Pop into the oven till golden brown on top.
