Step 1
Heat a Dutch oven over medium heat and add 50g of the butter. Add the sliced onion and fry for 4 minutes until browned. Remove from pot. Add the 50g of butter and the flour. Stir constantly to combine, continue to cook, and stir until it turns medium brown.
Step 2
Stir through the Wattie's Supreme Chicken gravy mix. Add chicken stock and 500ml of water a little at a time, stirring until a smooth sauce develops. You can add more stock or water if it is too thick.
Step 3
Add cooked onion, cover, and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Cook till the consistency is of pouring cream. Turn off the heat and, with two forks, shred the chicken and add to the hot gravy.
Step 4
Serve with buttered rolls or buns, Heinz® [SERIOUSLY] GOOD™ Original Mayonnaise, and cooked Wattie's® Garden Peas.
