¼ cup Wattie's Smoked Hickory Flavoured BBQ Sauce
1 tsp finely grated fresh ginger
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 Tbsp wholegrain mustard
1 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp olive oil
600 g beef sirloin or rump steak

Step 1
To make the glaze. Mix together the Wattie’s Smoked Hickory Flavoured BBQ Sauce, ginger, garlic, wholegrain mustard, brown sugar and oil.
Step 2
Heat the BBQ plate to a medium-high temperature. Place the steaks onto the hot plate. Brush the steaks with the glaze. Cook for 8–10 minutes, turning once during cooking, or until the steaks are cooked to your liking, brushing with the glaze during cooking.
Step 3
Once cooked, remove from the heat and rest the steak for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with a green salad and boiled new potatoes.

Avoid having the BBQ plate too hot as the ‘sugars’ in the glaze will cause the steaks to burn before they finish cooking.
