A great quick and easy reciept, not full of bottles of this and that , you dont always have in your cupboards when you need a quick desert when you have unexpected friends for tea.

This is even better with home made apple mix. Just add 1 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon salt , and 1 tablespoon vinegar to 5 peeled and sliced apples. Add 4 cubes of butter to the top of the apples before dotting dough on top.

How long to cook for? I made it all up and shoved in the oven - when went to check how long it needed to be in for - there was nothing !!! I will just take it out when it looks golden and done - but as a some what beginning baker, a time would be helpful ;-) Thanks

Reply from The Food in a Minute Team

Hi Sarah, thank you for picking that up. You will need to cook the tart for 40 minutes until top is golden and pastry cooked. . I've udpated the method to reflect this. Thanks!

The very BEST apple pie ever even my husband who's mum is a chef said it taste better than his mothers apple pie, I've made one last night, my husband had some for breakfast and he insisted that I need to make another one today. It's cheap, quick and easy to make, my first apple pie ever and a massive success and it's delicious. I am also not very good to make or bake food so definitely a winner recipe.
