• 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp Gregg's Mixed Spice
  • 1 cup raw sugar
  • ¾ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 large bananas)
  • 1 cup chopped ripe feijoas (about 3-4 feijoas)
  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (conventional bake). Grease and line the base of a 13cm x 23cm x 70 (6 cup capacity) loaf tin with baking paper.
  2. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and Gregg's Mixed Spice into a mixing bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl beat together raw sugar, oil, egg and mashed bananas to combine. Pour into the dry ingredients along with the chopped feijoas. Fold into the dry ingredients to mix.
  4. Pour into prepared loaf tin. Bake for 55 - 60 minutes until cooked. A skewer inserted into the middle of the loaf will come out clean. Leave in the tin to cool for 10 minutes before turning onto a cake rack to cool completely. Cut into slices to serve.

Perfect way to use up fejoas and banannas which we usually have tons of. Nice cold with butter too.

Pretty tasty, though I think next time I’ll add more feijoa as the flavour wasn’t as prominent as my family would like.

Also next time I think I’ll add yoghurt as it was just a little dry.

Lovely moist cake with good flavours of banana and feijoa. Nice and easy to make!

Made this today with feijoas from our garden and it is fabulous - mostly because it gives the faithful banana loaf a new dimension.
I am going to freeze some feijoas so I can do it again - and wow the crowd again!
Thanks for an imaginative and delicious recipe for me to add to my collection.

Tasty and easy to make. Second time around I added an egg and only 3/4 cup chopped feijoa. We all prefered that version..

A little dry, not a fav for my kids but worth a try. If you a feijoa lover maybe add 1 or 2 more for more flavour.

Bananas were cheap and the feijoas were free so I had nothing to loose and it was delicious and so easy.
Because I had so many feijoas I used 6 and chopped quite big pieces as they cook down.

Delicious and so easy to make. I used regular white sugar because that's all I had and I upped the feijoa to 1.5 cups. Will be making again.
