• 400g lean beef mince
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 2 Tbsp Wattie's Tomato Paste
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 420g can Wattie's Chilli Beans Hot
  1. Heat a dash of oil in a frying pan and brown mince with the onion.
  2. Add cumin, coriander and Wattie’s Tomato Paste. Stir and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Add stock and Wattie’s Chilli Beans Hot. Stir, cover and simmer for 15 minutes until mince is cooked.
  4. Serve with rice (or corn chips) and a green salad on the side.

"Easy" sums this one up, "tasty" is its second name. A very straightforward meal for those rushed evenings and brilliant in the chill of winter. We enjoyed it with grated cheese on top and a huge dollop of Greek yoghurt. This will be a regular in future, but we may prefer the medium strength chilli beans.

I always do this recipe. SOmetimes I go vegetarian and instead of mince I use quorn mince and the taste is the same!

A great, simple, quick and easy recipe which was a hit with the whole family. The only difference was that I used about 1 kg of beef mince, and added 2 crushed cloves of fresh garlic with the onion. I also added 4 Tbsp (60ml) of Wattie's tomato paste to the mixture. We enjoyed it served on rice with a generous dollop of sour cream and a sprinkle of grated cheddar cheese & crushed corned chips & shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes and cucumber! Yum! :-)

Absolutely fabulous! I made it last night and it should have been enough for four, but it was so lovely that the two of us ate most of it between us! What I love about this is that you can use it is so many ways - use it for burritos or nachos. Serve it with spaghetti for a chilli bolognese. Use it for a lasagne. Serve it on rice, and/or with a salad. It's so versatile, delicious, and filling.

we made this but swapped the chilli beans and used lentils instead. we added some grated carrot & spinach for extra vege servings. we doubled the mixture so it would last a few days. the leftovers we had for dinner different ways -first night with corn chips, next night with rice then day after that we had them in toasties - so yumo!
