  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 535 g can Wattie’s Very Special Creamy Corn Soup
  • ½ cup Wattie’s Frozen Peas
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • zest of 1 lemon
  • 400 g smoked fish, flaked
  • 450 g packet Wattie’s Frozen Homestyle Mashed Potato


1. Heat a dash of oil in a non- stick frying pan and cook onion until soft. Pour in the Wattie’s Very Special Creamy Corn Soup, frozen peas, parsley and lemon zest. Stir over the heat for 2 minutes. Stir in the smoked fish then pour into a medium sized oven proof dish.

2. Place the Wattie’s Frozen Homestyle Mashed Potato patties on top of the fish pie overlapping to resemble fish scales. Place in an oven preheated to 180°C for 25-30 minutes. Finish under the grill for a few minutes to get a great golden top.

Serve with a salad or your favourite green vegetables.


* Replace snapper fillets with tarakihi or gurnard fillets if wished.

A nice easy recipe to make. Very tasty, but felt it needed more sauce and to be creamier so next time I will add some sour cream or something similar.

We added creamed corn and maggi chicken stock instead of the soup, also celery. every one enjoyed the meal. My daughter says " I dont normally like fish pie but I liked it a little so it was pretty good"

Couldn't find creamy corn soup so used Hearty Corn and Bacon Chowder and instead of using the cheating frozen mashed spud I cooked thick slices of spud and layered them the same way. Worked really well and went down a treat! I have never cooked an easier fish pie!
