Ingredients

  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 500g lean beef mince
  • 1 Tbsp Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce
  • ¼ cup Wattie's Tomato Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp cornflour
  • 2 cups Wattie’s Frozen Mixed Vegetables

Method

  1. Heat a dash of oil in a saucepan and cook onion and garlic for 2 minutes or until soft but not coloured.
  2. Add mince and continue cooking for a further 5 minutes, until mince has changed colour but not browned.
  3. Add 1 ½ cups boiling water, Worcestershire sauce and Wattie’s Tomato Sauce and simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. In a cup, mix cornflour with 2 tablespoons of cold water and stir until it becomes a smooth paste.
  5. Add the cornflour paste and the Wattie’s Frozen Mixed Vegetables to the mince and continue cooking for another 5-10 minutes.
  6. Serve on hot toast with extra Wattie’s Tomato Sauce.
