Ingredients

  • 1 banana, peeled and diced
  • 410 g can Wattie's Fruit Salad in Clear Fruit Juice, well drained
  • 420 g can Wattie's Creamed Rice 99% Fat Free Vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp toasted flaked almonds (optional)
  • ¼ cup brown sugar

Method

1. In a bowl mix together the banana, Wattie’s Fruit Salad, Wattie’s 99% Fat Free Vanilla Creamed Rice and flaked almonds if using.

2. Divide among 4 ramekin dishes and sprinkle each evenly with 1 Tbsp brown sugar. Fan grill in the middle of the oven at 190°C for 10 minutes until the top is golden and the creamed rice hot.

We do not have the fan grill option on our oven - what would be the alternative way of cooking this?

Hi Daniel, the fruit gratin can be cooked in an oven without the fan grill option. You can put the gratin in a pre-heated 200°C oven for 5 minutes and then switch it to the regular grill function for a further 5 minutes until the top caramelises. Putting it into the oven first will ensure the rice and fruit are hot. Thanks!
