  • 1 Tbsp oil
  • 1 onion, peeled and finely chopped
  • 500 lean beef mince
  • 130 g can Wattie's Tomato Paste
  • 545 g can Wattie's Just Add Mince Country French Mince Simmer Sauce
  • 1 cup Wattie's Frozen Peas and Corn
  • 2 cups mushrooms, chopped
  • 1 cup water
  • 500 g bag Wattie's Potato Pom Poms
  • ½ cup grated tasty cheddar cheese

NEW Wattie’s® Tomato Paste sachet 70g

Ideal for creating delicious pasta sauces and casseroles, the unique single serve format means there’s no mess or waste. No added salt or sugar or preservatives.

1. Heat the oil in a frying pan and brown the onion and minced beef, breaking up the beef with a fork as you go to ensure even sized pieces.

2. Add the tomato paste and cook stirring over a moderate heat until it has darkened in colour to a deep brown shade. This takes about 5 minutes and adds a wonderful rich flavour to the pie.

3. Add the Wattie's Just Add Country French Mince Simmer Sauce,
mushrooms, Wattie's frozen Peas and Corn, and water.

4. Stir, cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Stir occasionally.

5. Transfer to 6 cup capacity oven proof dish and top with Wattie's frozen Potato Pom Poms and sprinkle over the grated cheddar cheese.

6. Bake at 220°C for about 15-20 minutes until the topping is golden, the cheese bubbling and the pie hot and delicious.
