yum this was great but think it would be better with chuck steak i dont like rump
Beef and Pineapple Satay
Satay sauce is one of the greatest Indonesian inventions of all time! The creamy peanutty sauce combines wonderfully well here with stir fry beef and pineapple.
Ingredients
- 500-650g lean rump steak
- 425g can Wattie's Stir Fry Creamy Satay Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Sweet Soy Sauce (kecap manis)
- 454g can pineapple well drained or 1/2 fresh pineapple, trimmed and finely sliced
- 8 spring onions, trimmed and cut into thirds
- 1/2-3/4 cup toasted peanuts (unsalted)
Method
1. Cut the beef into 2cm pieces. Heat a dash of oil in a frying pan and cook the beef quickly over a high heat to brown. This is best done in two batches. Return all the meat to the pan.
2. Add the Wattie's Stir Fry Creamy Satay Sauce and sweet soy sauce and simmer for 3 minutes.
3. Add the pineapple slices and spring onions and simmer a further 2 minutes. Stand for 1 minute before serving.
Serve over boiled rice and garnish with peanuts.
