Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup dessicated coconut
  • 100 g butter
  • 2 Tbsp golden syrup
  • 1 Tbsp boiling water
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 770 g can Wattie's Simply Sliced Apple

Method

1.Preheat oven to 180ºC.

2. Sift the flour into a large bowl and stir in the rolled oats, sugar and coconut. Rub in the butter with your fingertips.

3. Mix together the golden syrup, boiling water, vanilla essence and baking soda. Pour into the oat crumb mixture and use a knife to just mix through.

4.Place Wattie’s Simply Sliced Apples in an oven and microwave-safe dish and heat in microwave for a few minutes until apples are hot.

5.Sprinkle the crumble on top and bake for about 20-25 minutes until the crumble is golden and the fruit is hot.

6. For individual serves, divide fruit and crumble between 5-6 ramekins and bake until crumble is golden and fruit is hot.

7. Serve with whipped cream or hokey pokey ice cream.
