There are more than 800,000 sport volunteers in New Zealand from students to octogenarians. They volunteer literally millions of hours of their time to the community.

“We recognise that these volunteers, young and old, are giving up their time to help ensure we all come together as communities and play sport” says Tim Skellern from Wattie’s. “They’re our unsung sporting heroes, the backbone of sports in New Zealand. Wattie’s would like to encourage New Zealanders to thank these people and give them the recognition they deserve”.

Send a thank-you e-card and nominate a great young sport volunteer at www.sparc.org.nz/volunteers or by picking up an entry form from your local Regional Sports Trust. Nominations close midnight 23 August 2011. Full terms and conditions can be viewed at www.sparc.org.nz/volunteers.
